Tramelle Howard - Policy Manager and Lawyer

In this episode, Tramelle Howard, a 2015 Southern University Law Center graduate, explains how his experiences working with Teach for America taught him that he could advocate for others on a larger scale by working with the Education Trust in Louisiana.  Tramelle combined his legal education with his legal clinic training and ran for office, becoming the youngest person elected to District Three of the East Baton Rouge School Board.

Tramelle Howard serves as the external relations and policy manager with the Education Trust, where he advocates for equity for black, brown and low-income students in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Tramelle is currently serving District Three of the East Baton Rouge School Board, where he acts as the Vice President of that board.

Tramelle chose not to take any state’s bar exam and he has not regretted that decision.  Tramelle's law degree has impacted his career in numerous ways, even though the trajectory of his career changed in numerous ways.
